Vendor-lock-in — AI news & analysis

Anthropic just made your Claude commitment spendable at other vendors — without saying how much of it

The Claude Marketplace went live on 23 September 2026 with 2,000-plus connectors, purchasable partner products and Big Four implementation partners in one catalogue. The mechanic that matters is committed-spend drawdown: eligible customers can put part of their Anthropic commitment toward Cursor, Harvey, Snowflake or CrowdStrike. AWS publishes its equivalent cap at 25%. Anthropic has published no number at all — which is the difference between a budget instrument and a shopping page.
