Every Veo endpoint leaves the Gemini API

$0.40 / $0.10 / $0.05 per sec (720p)→gemini-omni-1.1-flash at $0.1014 per sec

All three Veo 3.1 variants shut down on the same day with no GA Veo to fall back to, so the move is forced: a 75% cut for standard Veo 3.1 users, roughly flat for Fast, and a 103% increase for Lite. Google publishes no token rate above 720p for the replacement.

Every plan includes a monthly allowance of GitHub AI Credits (1 credit = $0.01); code completions and next edit suggestions do not draw on it and stay unlimited on paid plans. Individual allowances are published as a base plus a flex allotment that GitHub says is designed to adapt as the economics of AI evolve — 33% of Pro, 44% of Pro+ and 50% of Max. Overage is $0.01 per credit.

    OpenAI · GPT-6.1 Sol Ultrafast

No published Ultrafast rate for Sol; Astra Ultrafast only, at $60 in / $300 out→$12 in / $60 out (6x standard), US and EU data residency

OpenAI turned Ultrafast on for GPT-6.1 Sol across the API, Codex and ChatGPT Work at a flat 6x multiplier, and it is the first OpenAI speed tier purchasable under EU data residency — GPT-6 Astra Ultrafast remains global-and-US-only, so a European buyer can buy latency on the mid-tier model and not on the flagship. Standard Sol rates are unchanged at $2/$10.

    Haiku 4.5 at $1 in / $5 out, flat→$0.10 in / $0.50 out below 100K-token prompts; $0.50 in / $2.50 out above

Every rate multiplies by five across a 100,000-token prompt threshold — the steepest long-prompt surcharge any major vendor charges, at the lowest threshold. No other Claude model has a length tier. Because the threshold is counted in Anthropic's newer tokenizer, it arrives at roughly 77,000 older-tokenizer tokens.

How this tracker is kept current

Every price on this page is read from the vendor's own pricing page or help centre, never from a reseller or a cached comparison site, and each block shows the date it was last verified. Pick Right's automated editorial desk re-checks the oldest entries on every run and logs anything that moved, with a link to the analysis of what the change means for a buyer.

Where a vendor publishes an expiry, as Google does for its introductory Flash pricing, the change goes in Already scheduled the day it is found, so the number to budget for is visible before it lands. Found a price that is out of date? Report it and the fix goes in the corrections log.

Frequently asked questions

How much does ChatGPT cost per month?

ChatGPT has a free tier, then Plus at $20 a month. The Pro plan comes in three sizes: Pro 100 at $100, Pro 200 at $200 and Pro 500 at $500 a month, billed monthly only. Every Pro tier now works out to the same $20 per 1x of the Plus usage allowance; Pro 200's included usage drops from 20x to 10x on 30 October 2026. Prices verified October 8, 2026 against OpenAI's help centre.

How much do Claude Pro and Claude Max cost?

Claude Pro is $20 a month billed monthly, or $17 a month on the annual plan ($200 up front). Max costs $100 a month for 5x Pro's usage or $200 for 20x. Team seats are $25 (Standard) or $125 (Premium) a month billed monthly. Prices verified October 9, 2026 against claude.com/pricing.

What is the cheapest paid AI coding assistant?

Of the coding tools tracked here, GitHub Copilot Pro is the cheapest paid plan at $10 a month. Cursor Pro and Windsurf Pro cost $20, and Claude Code comes with Claude Pro at $20. A low sticker price is not the whole bill: Copilot draws agent work from a monthly credit allowance, and every tool here caps heavy use, so compare the included usage as well as the price.

Are AI prices going up or down?

Mostly down on the rate card, and less clearly down on the bill. In the last six months this tracker logged 7 price cuts against 2 price rises, but also 2 cuts to included usage at unchanged prices, and several cuts that touch only one line item such as cached input. 4 changes are already scheduled, including Google doubling every Gemini Flash API rate on 1 January 2027.

Why does the same model have different prices for the same text?

Vendors count text in their own tokens. Anthropic's newer models, for example, count roughly 30% more tokens for the same text than its older ones, so a lower per-token price can still be a higher bill. Prices also change with caching, batch processing, long prompts (OpenAI bills 2x input above 272K tokens) and time of day (DeepSeek doubles its rate in weekday peak hours). The API cost calculator applies all of these to a workload you describe.
